I think it's worth pointing out that the "blogger coach" also has gotten something out of his service with the Grandparent Coalition. When discussing why he tries to avoid strict hyperbolic political categories, he writes:

Just goes to show that BloggerCorps can bring together bloggers and non-profits, but also help bridge political differences to form common solutions.
